Hey Diddle Diddle and Baby Bunting: R. Caldecott's Picture Books

by Randolph Caldecott

1881 · Children's Literature · 1 chapters

Two nursery rhymes given a picture book each by Randolph Caldecott, printed together by Frederick Warne. In the first the cat and the fiddle, the cow that jumped over the moon, the laughing little dog and the eloping dish and spoon are drawn out across page after page, a few words to a picture. In the second, Baby Bunting's father has gone a-hunting to fetch the rabbit-skin the baby is to be wrapped in — and Caldecott, characteristically, follows the joke through to what the rabbits make of it. Number ten in Caldecott's series of sixteen picture books.
